Joe Corrigan

Joe Corrigan and Signature Swing were invited along to The Hippodrome in Leicester Square, to perform in the elegant Matcham Theatre, which has been hailed as one of the most significant additions to London's music and cabaret scene in decades.

The History of this beautiful venue can't be ignored, as reminders that have performed there in the past are peppered about the venue and the atmosphere that this creates is palpable.

The dressing rooms give a nod to Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin and Judy Garland and The Matcham room itself, is reminiscent of the famous 'Copa Room' at The Sands in Las Vegas, which played host to The Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr), Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Count Basie and a host of others.

The audience were seated, the band took to the stage and the scene was set for a very special evening.

The band struck up and Joe Corrigan opened the show, by launching into an energetic performance of the Bobby Darin hit 'As long as I'm singing' and then continuing to perform some of the greatest songs ever written, joined by his two 'Signature Swing Girls' - Kirsty Elsley and Samantha Corrigan, who added their usual sparkle, sensational vocals and stunning harmonies to make the show complete.

Their 1940's Andrews Sisters style rendition of the Meghan Trainor hit 'All About That Bass' was one of the many highlights of the evening, along with Caro Emeralds 'That Man and the Etta James classic 'At Last' performed as a beautiful duet.

Joe Corrigan brought the show to a very fitting close with a sincere performance of Bobby Darins 'The Curtain Falls' and was then cheered on to a rousing encore of Frank Sinatras 'New York New York'

The host for the evening commented afterwards "You've made my night!"
